Story
Born the second daughter of a renowned musical family in Mingting, she is gentle yet strong, pure of heart and romantic, a lady who draws her sword in the name of justice. As a "Votary of the Voice," she can commune with the Streams. Once an Outrider of the Midnight Rangers in Jinzhou, she now serves as an acting Xuan Watcher of Xuanfang Hold. Free as a breeze, bold in her chivalry, her life and her blade exist only to protect.
[Resonance Assessment RA2710-G] Compared with previous assessments, the Resonance Spectrum Pattern fit remains extremely high. The Rabelle's Curve shows no significant change, though a steady upward trend is present, ultimately settling into stable oscillation. The result confirms a Natural Resonator classification. The subject can resonate with surrounding air currents and gather them into energy fields. Beyond this, she can condense her Resonance power into "Azure Plumes," which can neutralize and restore the frequencies they contact, as well as erase the Resonance powers and effects imprinted on living and non-living matters. According to the subject, she received a frequency from the "Xuanling Bird"—a Remnant creature from the distant past of the Land of Xuanfang—during an encounter within the Censure Court of Xuanfang Hold. This event reportedly altered her Resonance Ability. However, Resonance assessment reveals no significant change in the subject's source of Forte. We therefore conclude that no secondary mutation has occurred. <i>"Resonating with a Xuanling Bird... It's an intuitive guess, but the data doesn't support it... Your frequency hasn't so much changed as it has been 'completed.' To put it another way, it's like an amnesiac recalling their past. Perhaps this ability has always been yours, and only now have you come to recognize it. That said, this remains speculation." — From a conversation with a medic of Huaxu Academy</i>
Yangyang's hair ribbon and hat. The ribbon was a parting blessing from her mother; the hat, a gift from her friends after she became an Outrider. Morning after morning, Yangyang ties the one and dons the other before the mirror. It is a small ritual, a moment to gather her heart before she meets the world, to ensure she has never strayed from her earliest vow. After her Resonance Ability changed, Yangyang thought long and hard before sealing these two lifelong "symbols" away in her wardrobe. What they meant was long since seared into her heart, and a fledgling that has cracked free of its shell no longer needs it to hold its shape. She wants now to stride boldly forward, to open her wings to the sky. Her wishes have already drifted on the wind to every corner of the world, and so she means to anchor a new self, an "adult" who can carry others' burdens, an azure-plumed bird winging in the high heavens, heralding the dawn.
The letters Yangyang has kept from {Male=him;Female=her}. She has treasured every one of them, and by now they would stack into quite a little mountain. Each letter is a journey of its own, a story they could not share in person, but chose to share in ink. She holds these memories close. Whenever her fingertips trace the written lines—places her own feet have never touched—the image of {Male=him;Female=her} roving these lands takes shape in her mind, clear and vivid.
A coming-of-age gift from Yangyang's mother, entrusted to Suisui for delivery years after Yangyang left home. The sound of the tides seems sealed within. <i>"Like moths to a flame, all who hear the ■■ are bound to walk the road of ■■■■. To the last Votary of the Voice in this world: may this journey of yours—unhoped-for and fated to fail—find some small measure of meaning through the presence of ■■■."</i>
